so you found your way here
Same instinct now, much bigger job. The funnels, the emails, the campaigns and the plan holding them together, owned by one person instead of five. So you stop being the one in the middle keeping it all upright. You get your weeks back, the marketing keeps moving without you, and it still sounds exactly like you.
that's me. already plotting.
I was nine, singing in the choir, and somewhere in there I started writing little love stories. Romantic little love stories, honestly inspired by the Disney and Barbie movies I was glued to back then.
I passed them around, and my friends would come back asking me when the next chapter was coming. Come on. Nine years old with readers waiting. I did not have a word for it yet. I just knew that when I put the right words down, something happened.
People felt it. They wanted more of it.
Life did what life does. I went through a season that took someone I loved, and it changed me. I am not going to sit here and unpack all of it. But that kind of thing rearranges you.
School stopped reaching me. A counsellor told me there is more life outside these walls than inside them, and I took him completely literally. If the classroom was not going to give me something real, I would go and find it myself.
So I went and found work.
the numbers moved when i talked.
Shop floors. Two of them. Standing behind a counter convincing strangers to buy things they had walked in unsure about. And I was good at it. Record-breaking good. My employer kept handing me bonuses because the numbers kept moving whenever I was the one doing the talking.
I was still in school while this was happening. Exams in the morning, selling in the evening. Seven in the morning until eight at night, for pennies. It made me thin. It made me ill. My body was keeping a score my head had not read yet.
And one day I thought, nah. Not this.
The words were already making money. I just had no idea what they were called.
Somewhere in there I found affiliate marketing, and it blew my mind. You could make money online. Imagine that. So I went at it, and roughly 90% of the people I actually spoke to ended up buying. I started hosting classes, then masterclasses, then bringing other people in behind me.
And it was not the product doing that. It was me. It was the words, the way I framed it, the way I made a person feel seen before I ever asked them for anything.
So I went looking for what to call it, and it came back with a name. Copywriting. The exact thing brands were desperate for and could not do for themselves. That same search is how I found Alex Cattoni, who became my mentor.
About two years into the copywriting I met Presley, and through him the paid-ads world cracked open. Live conversion data. Real money moving in real time. That changed what I was looking at. Not just does this copy read well, but did this creative pull, and why did that one flop, and what happens to the follow-up after the click.
Once you have seen the whole board, you cannot go back to owning one square.
Six years in now, and five of those embedded inside an agency rather than freelancing at the edge of one. I am the chief marketing officer of an agency, where I have hired and led creatives, designers, developers and media buyers. I am the chief operating officer of an ecommerce brand. Two brands, two seats, both of them live this week.
That is who you are getting. Not a copywriter for hire. Someone who runs marketing engines for a living, and will run yours like it has her name on it.
the moment i knew
So, Emma. Fitness coach out in Canada, and I wrote her website copy. I finished it, read it back, and thought, damn. I am really good at this.
She thought so too. Months after we were done, when I asked her for a testimonial, the thing she reached for was not the traffic or the launch. It was how she felt reading her own about page, seeing herself written the way she would have written it if she could.
That has happened more than once now. It is the part of this work I guard hardest.
“Joy is very talented at getting into your head and writing the way you would.”
Emma · Fitness Coach & Nutritionist · Canada
She went on to unlock her first high-ticket client from social, and now runs around $8,000 a month online.
The same client kept finding me. Already thousands deep across a designer, someone on social, an email person, a funnel person. Every one of them doing their own piece properly, and not one of them able to say whether it was the right piece.
So the work got done and the results never came. The brand stopped sounding like one brand. By the time they reached me, most were close to walking away from what they had built. Jasmin was one of them.
not just the words. the strategy and the execution.
Dr Jasmin Tzortzakakis Malik
“Her guidance restored my confidence in the process and helped me move forward when I was ready to give up.”
She had come to it completely new to the process, in her own words quite confused, and the technical side kept glitching. What she remembers is not the fix. It is that somebody stayed patient with her until it was right.
And they all had the same thing in common. They wanted to be less accessible in their own business, and they could not be. Because every freelancer they hired needed holding. Instructions. Briefs. Someone to decide what happens next and in what order. So the founder stayed stuck in the middle of the exact job they had paid to hand over.
I am not someone who needs the instructions. I am the one who gives them, backed by the experience to know what actually moves a number and what only looks busy. I am a mother of two running marketing and operations for two brands, and this is the day job. Find where the marketing is leaking. Find where it stopped sounding like the person who built it. Build the plan. Then direct the people who carry it out.
So if you want to be less accessible while making more than you ever have, with marketing that is organised, consistent and properly positioned, this is the behind the scenes work bestie you have been looking for.
Your voice is the one thing nobody can copy
Someone can take your offer, your prices, even your format. They cannot take the way you say it. So I guard it. Every line goes out sounding like you actually talk, never like well-behaved copy a robot handed over.
I lead the AI. I never let it lead me
My opinion, said plainly. AI running without an expert human operator on it, someone with the discernment to know what to keep and what to kill, is why every brand now reads the same. Same rhythm, same words, same sameness. I use it daily. I just never let it near the part that makes you sound like you.
Clearer, not louder
You do not need to shout more. You need to be understood. A strong, clear offer first, then marketing that connects to it. Do it the other way round and no amount of great marketing saves it.
Consistency beats perfection
You do not have to DIY your way through this, and you do not have to get it perfect. Marketing pays. It just has to be connected, and it has to keep going. The brands that win are rarely the most polished ones, they are the ones that did not stop.
Marketing is how traffic reaches you
It is the number one way people find a business. Without consistent marketing you stay short on clients, short on income, and harder to reach in your own business than you should ever be. That is a fixable problem, and fixing it is the job.
The real reason I do this? So founders who have been burnt stop being invisible, and start making genuine impact.
If I am not writing, you will catch me with my hot coffee first thing, before I attend to my kids. Warm cup, chaotic house, that little window before the sweet chaos starts moving. That is the real me. I would not trade the chaos, I just like getting my coffee in before it.
There are a few ways we can stay connected beyond the work. I show up on podcasts and speak at conferences about marketing and messaging, so if that is your world, come find me there. If you want me on your podcast or your stage, or you want me running your marketing, it starts the same way.
Let's meet properly and talk routines, business and the fun bits. The call is the quickest way to actually meet me, and I like knowing a person before I write a single word in their voice.
in my clients' own words
take these, they are free
Three diagnostics I actually run on paying clients. No call required, no pitch attached. Take the one that matches what is bothering you right now.
Does your writing still sound like you?
The Voice Check is the exact filter I run every piece through before it goes out in a client name. Ten signs your words went quiet, and the precise change that fixes each one.
Run the Voice Check →THE HONEST NUMBERWhat your messaging is costing you
The Revenue Messaging Gap Analyzer gives you a Sameness Score and the money your messaging leaks in a year. A figure, not a feeling.
Get my number →THE DIAGNOSTICYou have the team. So why is it still all on you?
The Growth Gap names what you actually need next, who you need for it, and who really closes it. Including the times that person is not me.
Find my gap →Each one comes back with a written verdict from me, not an automated score.
When you work with me, you work with me. Directly. Not a faceless team, not an account manager passing your brand around, not junior hands you never asked for. Me, in your corner, guarding your brand like it is mine. But here is the bigger picture. My husband Presley and I also run a full agency, Vertex Strategix, and it covers the whole journey, from the very first traffic source all the way to the last point of contact with your customer. The ads that bring them in, the copy that moves them, the funnel, the emails, the follow-up. So you get both: the closeness of one person who truly knows your brand, and the muscle of a full agency behind her. See Vertex Strategix.
It means I own the marketing, not one slice of it. The plan, the messaging, the emails, the funnel, the campaigns, and the specialists running them. One person accountable for whether the whole thing moves, instead of five freelancers each doing their bit well while nothing connects. Your job inside it stays small on purpose. Edit, approve, review.
Very. Not just on the copy, but on the strategy, the campaigns behind a launch, the email sequences, the implementation guides, all of it. I still take copy work on its own when it is the right fit, and running marketing and operations for two brands did not take the pen out of my hand. When there is a team, I am the one explaining the plan and directing it. The knowledgeable person in your corner, not another pair of hands waiting on a brief.
Brands that are not actually delivering for the people who buy from them. If the experience does not match what the marketing promises, I am not the person who makes the promise louder. Anyone who wants AI output with no expert operator on it. And anyone chasing a quick cash grab, because marketing is a long game that pays, and it only pays if you stay consistent. This is built for people who want to be predictable online, with income that keeps coming, not a spike and a silence.
The copywriting portfolio lives at joybrian.co.uk. That is the craft on its own, kept separate from the growth partnership work so you can judge each on its own terms.
one call, no pitch
One call, thirty minutes. You show me where things are scattered. I tell you which leak is costing you most, what I would fix first, and in what order. You leave with that answer whether you ever hire me or not.
I take two growth partner clients at a time, so I would rather be useful to you on the call than sell you something that does not fit.
me
you?
Two seats. One plan. One person answerable for the whole thing.
